Prof. Douglas Down

Workload management, control system design, holistic control of data centres

Douglas Down is a Professor in the Department of Computing and Software at McMaster University and currently serves as the Acting Academic Director of CIRC. He holds B.A.Sc. and M.A.Sc. degrees from the University of Toronto and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to joining McMaster, he held a faculty position at the Georgia Institute of Technology. With a background in stochastic models, control and optimization, he has research interests in workload management, scheduling of distributed systems, and related problems in optimization and control. He is the author of over 100 refereed journal and conference publications, with an h0index of 24 and an i10-index of 41.
